It can take two or three days or sometimes longer. If it hasn't completed in a week or so, call Apple tech support, ask to speak with someone in AppleCare plan administration, and inquire.

Regards.

The process also depends on where you purchased your Mac; I just bought one from the apple online store > pickup at a local store. I ordered Applecare from an authorized reseller ($50 savings); received the package 5 days later, went to the Apple support page and clicked on "register Applecare". My Mac was already registered since I bought it directly from Apple. And, this was an absolute first in many years of buying Macs/Applecare: I received the confirmation/coverage statement via email 20 minutes later.

As I said, it depends where you buy the Mac though - if it's not Apple, you better check and may need to register it yourself - resellers rarely register it for you even though they may say they do. And, I've never had one that would register the Applecare for me.

I've never ever encountered any reseller that will register Applecare for you - if they did, they would need your Mac serial number, the registration number inside the Applecare package, and would need to either call Apple or enter the information on the Apple support page - which they can't do unless they have your Apple ID.

Can you point me to one reseller that will do any of that?

I have seen quite a few instances of this peronally, but will not mention names here. Generally it occurs within the smaller private re-sellers, but I have also seen this occure with some of the bigger names out there when an employe simply did not know better.

Hello, Not sure if i am posting correct on here so if I'm not sorry.

My inclusive 1 year protection is going to run out on the 19th May and I'm not able to buy the extended 2 year till the 18th of may. :-( if i register the care on the same day i purchase buy it will this be ok? I'm a worried i will miss out on the cover and be wasting my money.

Thanks Folks
