Does iPad stream to appleTV?

Here's the situation: Mom used her iPad2 to go to the iTunes Store where she bought a Season Pass for Downton Abbey, Season 2. The files were downloaded using her iPad2. But she wants to watch the episodes on her television by streaming through her appleTV. Is it possible to deauthorize the files on the iPad2 and then use her MacBook to log into the iTunes Store and download her already purchased files? Or is there some (easy) way for her to steam from her iPad2 to the appleTV.

I'm pretty sure she's stuck here and will have to re-purchase the Season Pass, but I thought I'd ask here first. I sure would appreciate any help!

the simple anseer is YES it does.

She doesn't have to deauthorize anything. The Ipad and Mac should have been set up with the same Apple ID. She can stream from her IPad to the ATV using AIRplay.

this should help

  1. Setting up and troubleshooting AirPlay Mirroring

There are a few options.

Firstly, she shouldn't need to deauthorise her iPad2. I haven't purchased any TV shows on the iPad, but I think that when she syncs with her MacBook then she will be able to transfer the purchase to the MacBook's iTunes library.

Alternatively, if she goes into the iTunes store on her MAcBook and clicks on "purchased" under the quick links section then she can select TV shows and download the shows from there.

In addition, she can use Airplay to desplay the videos that are on her iPad on the Apple TV. Just start playing it, and then click the Airplay icon (just to the right of the pause/play controls. She needs the iPad to be on the same network as the Apple TV for this.

She certainly doesn't need to repurchase.
