Q: How to disable AirPrint?

My company wants to disable airprint to stop employees printing company sensitive documents from mobile devices. I can't find a way to do this, any ideas?

Ipad, iOS 4

AFAIK - You cannot disable AirPrint. It is a built in feature of the OS and it can't be disabled or removed.

Apparently features built into the ios can't have an ON/OFF switch. Except for most of the other features on the iPad that are built in.

What printer brand and model is it?

Some models may allow disabling Bonjour broadcasting which will prevent AirPrint usage, it should not be an issue if you use Windows PCs only beside the iOS devices however it may affect if you use a Macintosh computers as well.

I am trying to print a CD with Epson CD Print ver 2,31 and have had no issues until using iPhone AirPrint and now I get the message

Your Mac is connected to the printer via AirPrint.

To print from Print CD, you need to use a driver provided by Epson.

I have updated the latest software for the Epson printer EP-707A

    What am I doing wrong?

Hi. This is an old thread about preventing devices from using AirPrint. It sounds instead like you are having trouble printing. I suggest that you post a new question describing your specific problem. Include your device and printer type, and describe the steps you have already tried. A good first step is always to restart the router, so it can refresh its tables.
