Exchange email will not work after IOS 5.1 update. Anyone else having same problem. Its been three days now I cannot get mail.

Exchange Email not working on Iphone 4S is anyone else having the same problem and is there a fix for this?

I'm having the same issues, except only one of my Exchange accounts took a dive after upgrading to iOS 5.1. My Gmail account (set up as Exchange) works flawlessly but my native Exchange account (work e-mail) stopped working after the update.


Post update to 5.1: (work Exchange account) I could view my inbox and view individuals emails in the inbox, but I was unable to send any emails. Mail started asking for my password after the update (for the affected Exchange account) but once entered, it failed to verify.


I completley removed the Exchange account and rentered all the account settings but again, failure to verify any information. I was hoping my password might have changed but it did not. Also, maybe the IT guy at the office (not very bright) changed some settings but the only difference is the new iOS update.


And while playing with the iPhone trying to make it work again, I noticed something really weird. Old emails (2-3 weeks) from multiple email accounts to include the inop Exchange account started showing up again on the pull down notification menu. I would clear these out of the notificaion menu but they always kept reapearing; very strange.

I have two email accounts set up on my iPhone 4. A gmail account for work and an AT&T persoanl account. The AT&T one is working fine, however I can't get any emails after about 0845 yesterday morning. Two nights I updated moth my iPhone and iPad to iOS 5.1 and neither of them are letting me view my email from my imap account. It has to. Be something related to the iOS update because I can still view my email on my pc through outlook.

Since iOS 5.1 update all 5 people with iPhone 4Ss at my company are having issues with exchange mail delivery. Gmail accounts are find but exchange mail is irratic. Some incoming emails arrive on the phone and some don't. When you try to delete an email on the phone you get a message "Unable to move message - The message could not be moved to the mailbox Trash." It dissappears and then appears as a new (unread) message in the Trash on both the phone and exchange server.

Is eveyone sure this is the iPhone? My MD has this issue with his iPhone 4, but we have removed his exchange account from the phone and the deleted message still reappears in his inbox on his PC. I know MS pushed out updates a few days ago too, so I'm wondering if there's something there?


MD + erratic email = grief


Can someone else test their email after removing their iPhone from the eqation?

I have several iPad2's in our environment and they all no longer authenticate when creating a new exchange account. We deleted the old one and tried to configure it again and it says "Unable to authenticate user information" or something close to that. My iphone4 on 5.0 works fine removing and adding the account again, and several other iphone3gs/4/4s's are working fine on 5.1.


I have tried closing the mail app, rebooting, hard rebooting, and nothing has worked so far.

We are experiencing a similiar issue now as well. Over 3G/4G on both Verizon and AT&T, we are having zero issues with people getting emails from our exchange 2003 server (via iphone 4 and 4S). Connecting via WIFI from anywhere besides our office is also working for iPhone 4, 4S and iPad (new iPad and 2).


However, we are getting constant connecting errors when connected via WIFI in our office. Occassionaly, I'll be able to connect with my iPad, but then no-one else in our office is able to. As far as I know, all devices are running 5.1.

Having the same problem. Since upgrading to 5.1 when connected to WiFi at home or at work none of my devices will update exchange account. However if connected to 3G on iPhone no problem... If connected to 4g on iPad 4 no problem. If I connect to 4g with personal hotspot with iPad 2 to my iPad 3 no problem. However when on WiFi no exchange. Restarting mail does not seem to help. Killing and reloading exchange does not help either, in fact it won't reauthenticate on WIFi.


I went to the genius bar today and of course it seemed to work fine on apples WiFi at the store. Thier solution was to switch from wep to wpa security on my network. Has anybody tried this? I can not imagine that this would work, but they are geniuses... Right.


BTW glad to see this thread after it worked at the store thought it might just be me.

This is what i figured out so far.. .and it seems (most likely) to be an issue with the 2G/3G provider. But dont know what hte 2G/3G network provider/carrier should change to make it work for my connection. Also not sure if all exchange server users under this network is having issues or if its isolated to only few users


Don't know if anyone else experiened similar pattern.... and if hte conclusion makes sense? One more observation is that even in iPhone 4 Safari - i'm not able to go to the https://<server name> site which was working before iOS 5.1 upgrade. Same server name i use to setup my exchange server mail box as well
