I'm using Leopard 10.5.8 on a Macbook Pro.
Audio Midi Setup keeps crashing, I'm trying to use Motu midi fast lane, it will not recognize the
unit, and anytime I try to click on anything or delete any midi devices in AMS midi, it crashes.
I've tried deleting midi drivers, preferences, etc. there's no solutions out there I can find.
USB midi devices seem to work fine,
Any ideas?
Does it crash with the Motu disconnected?
John, when you say pref files, was it these?

Yes, it still crashes with no midi device hooked up, and after deleting all of the above preferences.
I'm considering an upgrade to Snow Leopard then Lion, would that clear things up?
Does all your MIDI software work with either newer OS?
I don't know yet, can't download snow leopard from Apple, and they don't ship to a PO box. I'm on the road, so this is frustrating.

Upgrading to Snow Leopard solved the issue.
Haven't done the switch to Lion yet. I have too many recording projects
with the older system to afford all of the software upgrades.

I found the file:
/Library/Preference/Audio/com.apple.audio.DeviceSettings.plist
You can edit the file using a property list editor and change the sample rate.
