magic mouse battery level never 100%

my freinds bought me the rechargable batteries from the apple store a few months back (like nov 2011) and i fully charge the battery put it into the mouse or keyboard but a full charge is 81%? is this normal? 😕

i downloaded istatpro as i read mention of it in a few threads but that one too says 81%...do i have bad batteries? or is it just the mac not being able to read the battery correctly.

Actually there may be something wrong, either with the charger or the batteries. I went through the above reasoning when I first started using the recharables but was correctly pointed out on these forums the percentage is based on power, not voltage.

When I charge my Sanyo Eneloop NiMH (of course 1.2v) I do see 100% charge in the display. Some batteries have a high initial dropoff so maybe yours were 100% but dropped off to 81% by the time you read them (unless it was only a few minutes after you put them in in which case my initial statement stands). Continume monitoring. I suspect you will see the drop off at a much slower rate.

Of course "drop off rate" is a relative term. I use my MM heavily so it only takes me an average of 9 days to get the value below 15%.
