Can I tether my iPhone 4S to the new IPad which was launched days ago?
Since the newly launched IPad would be using 4G network to run, would it be able to detect & tether from my iPhone 4S 3G network for data, if I'm only using the wifi only version..?

If you have a WiFi only iPad, where would you get it's internet connetion from? You'd need the 4G/3G service to do that.
If you want to tether the iPad to your phone using the phone's personal hotspot feather, then sign up for that service from your wireless carrier.

Actually yes you can.
The iPhone 4s works as a mobile hotspot, which means that it will emit a WiFi zone that the iPad can pick up. When you set your phone to tether it will give a password to use to access its hotspot.
There may be a charge by your iPhone data supplier for tethering. Some do and some dont, so you will need to check with them.
Hi Parallex33, thanks for yr quick response. I knew I could tether the earlier version of iPad to my iPhone but I'm not sure it would works on the new iPad..? Does it need my iPhone to run a 4G to be tethered to or a 3G data network from my Iphone would just work as well?
In a tethering/hotspot situation, the iPad connects to the phone using wifi. It does not care what the phone is using to connect to the provider's network.

Just stumbled upon this discussion. Could someone tell me how you actually do this please? I've got an IPhone 4 and a new IPad wi-fi, both are running on the latest Ios. Just basically want to know how to get 3G on my iPad as I've not done it before.

I just called T-Mobile and they have changed my account so I have unlimted data use and can set up a persoanl hotspot to run it on my ipad.
They have only just chaged their policy this week so this is hot of the press!
