Best iPad 3 Case

Hello guys. Could anyone point me in the direction of a very good iPad 3 case that covers the back and also folds over the front. similar to the one that Apple launched with the iPad 1. Im not fussed about one with a magnet that just covers the screen. I'm in the UK. Best wishes..

I am reading this post with quite an interest since i need a case for my brand new iPad 3 too. However, since i already own an iPhone, i know that my highest priority is safety. Dropped my iPhone a few times. luckily, i put a protective case on it before using it, so no damage of any kind. I am using Otterbox Defender there and it is working great. I do not care that it makes it bulkier since the protection it offers trumps the bulk for me.

However, i read reviews on Otterbox for iPad and see a lot of complaints about screen protector part on that one. I agree with them since even on the iPhone it is a little bit of an issue, and i have a strong filling that it will be a much bigger issue for iPad.

Price does matter, but i would rather pay a few more dollars (or find a coupon to bring the price down) than loose an expensive iPad because i was too cheap to protect it well.

I have found these 2 and want to ask if anyone has an opinion/personal experience with these or another similar one. would you please share? thanks

I purchased the SNUGG cover for the iPad 3 which fits beautifully and functions as described. Furthermore, for added protection I purchased the CASECROWN Faux Suede Zip Sleeve Case for $12.18 from Amazon which completely 'fits' my ipad with SNUGG cover attached. I am pleased with both. Eventually, I would like to purchase the Otterbox iPad 3 protection case AFTER they provide a better built in screen protector. The current one denudes the quality of the Retinol Display too much in my opinion.

Hi @bourgogne_rouge,

I'm so glad you like it. I also recommended to many of my friends some of whom bought it.

I can also see some more variety of cases in their website, all for the new ipad -

The Ifrogz Summit was my favorite case for the iPad 2. So, I eagerly ordered the new version for the 3. But, the new case is NOT just like the version for the 2 with an added stylus holder and business card pouch. They changed the design of the way it is propped up. It will not stay in the propped up position if you touch the screen. It is really awful. Beware.

This seems very similar to the X-Doria Smartstyle except that it is imitation leather. Here is a review I wrote on the Smartstyle that is no longer visible because it was written for the white version which is currently out of stock.

This review is from: SmartStyle for new iPad & iPad 2 (White) (Electronics)

I too have this case in black, but am putting the review here because black seems to be temporarily out of stock.

I am totally taken by this case. The automatic on-off function works perfectly, the leather front piece of the case folds entirely back flat and latches in that position with a magnet. It adds almost no bulk or weight to the iPad and is stylish, sleek, and classy looking with a textured and patterned leather and detailed workmanship. I looked at a lot of cases and I think it really has it all, appearance, function, lightness, and sleekness that justifies the somewhat higher price. So many of the others are either plastic, imitation leather and/or are clunky and detract from the design beauty of the iPad.

I bought a leather case from Brookstone for my iPad and absolutely love it. It's genuine leather, covers entire iPad and has a magnetic, removeable keyboard that can also be used on other BT devices. The keyboard does not run on batteries, it is rechargeable instead. It holds a charge forever and has full size keys, because it's magnetic you can position the keyboard anyplace you like on the cover. I highly recommend this case, though a bit pricey it's worth every penny. Brookstone does have another one with a built in keyboard but the case isn't leather and the keyboard is not removeable. Hope this helps.
