Q: Mini & HDMI problem

After a recent firmware update, my Mac Mini will not startup with the HDMI cable plugged in. It beeps three times at startup and won't boot. If I unplug the HDMI cable it starts up just fine and then I can plug in the HDMI and get the screen working. Anyone know of an easy fix?

Strange, normally the beeps mean a Hardware problem...
