I know that I don't have to activate a cellular contract at the time of purchase, and with two iPhones in the house already I don't really want a third contract.

But with the original iPad there were a number of featuers that were NOT enabled on the Non-Cellular model - for example the compas.

When we bought the original iPad I was surprised to find a number of these little nits - and wish that we had known in advance.   True, I found Apps for most of them and learned to live without for the others.

But as I am planning on upgrading to the new model I am curious to know in advance - what difference there are between the base WiFi model and the WiFi plus 3G/4G model.

Hopefully someone here has some info on that.  Thanks in advance.
