MAC BOOK PRO STARTS MAKING WORKING SOUNDS

working sounds , i am not sure if its the fans i dont think its hte fans....

is it hte hardisk ?

it was silent all day but now make sounds? not sure if its the hardisk... i used it mch heavier today and had no such sound... or maybe i did but it was noise arround me.


its a new mac book, its not a damaged hardisk .


can someone tell me?

If the AHT shows no problems, all it means is that it has not detected any problems. There still may be some.


If you have installed iStat pro, please do so. Normal fan speed with a minimal load is about 2000 rpm. If you have a computer game, Skpe or Video, open them (and as many other applications) and make the CPU work hard as you can. The objective is to get the fans spinning at faster rates to see if those sounds that you have been hearing will occur again.


Use Activity Monitor to watch the CPU load and iStat pro for the fan speed.

we dont have a mac thing in my city ..... the mac has not frozen either since last tiem..


perhaps it snormal for the hardrive to work under normal use ... even if your not sending files here an there...

i didi ahve the same sound like fan sound from hardrive with the other mac book pro too..

just that i am being very picky?


is ibad to rest your palm over the hardrive zone?

The only way you can get your concerns fully resolved is as I suggested in my initial response, is to take your MBP to an authorized repair facility. They can perform a complete diagnosis with no cost to you since your MBP is still under warranty.


Since I cannot hear these sounds I can only speculate what they may signify. Perhaps there is some one else who will read this and be in a better position to explain these noises to you. It seems that this is not within the realm of my abilities. Sorry.
