iOS 5.1 AirPlay missing

I didn't have this problem with iOS 5.1 but I did with iOS 5. My issue was both devices were not on the same wifi network. I accidently signed in with a guest account when setting up wifi after installing the new software.

If they are not on the same network the Apple TV won't be reconized and the option for mirrioring will not even show up.

Most AirPlay problems are as a result of a problem on your network, start by trying restarting your router.

You have to enable airplay on each device. There should be detailed instructions on these help pages but in general you have to hit the home button twice and slide the apps all the way to the left then enable airplay on any available apple tv's.

Guys, it's an iPad iOS 5.01 issue as I update my apple tv and iPad 2 and have the same issue but my iPhone 4 and iPad on iOS 5 have no issue. All worked ok before the update.

Same problem, I just bought an ATV 3 and the new iPad. They are all in the same WIFI, ATV could connect to internet via WIFI. But none of my iDevices(including my two 4s) could have the Airplay button show up. And I turned on my Home share on my MAC PRO, using the same APPLE ID, ATV couldn't find it. all devices have the same version of firmware/update. I've tried everything I could, but still not working. I'm so frustrated

Just to clarify my devices on the old iOS 5 still work fine on the same network. My advice don't upgrade just yet.

I have the latest updates on both my ATV2's and my iPad 2 and iphone 3Gs's- all run Airplay fine. What do you see when you double tap your home button on your ipad2, swipe right- and click on the airplay icon to do mirroring? On mine, I see both ATV2's and can mirror with no issues.

I am also running an Airport Extreme but that shouldn't matter.

If you are having problems with AirPlay not showing up, try this.....

See if your Bluetooth is turned On in your iOS settings....

If it is, turn Bluetooth OFF

Hi turned Bluetooth of. No difference.

The blue tooth is on in the iPhone at it works fine.

Seems like a software issue with ios 5.1

No AirPlay when I swipe across. Perhaps it's a software issue with the modem. Using a non apple modem. May not to get another patch. Don't fancy my chances as on an Irish ISP eircom that don't like apple to much.

5.0 works fine on all other devices.

problems aswell here, updated appletv and iphone 4 and ipad 1, no airplay support any longer...

Also lost AirPlay on all 3 IOS devices (2 iPhones, 1 iPad) since upgrading to IOS 5.1 yesterday.. Grrrr! Tried rebooting routers and devices, switching networks and back again, checked all settings - could not find anything obviously incorrect.

Mine strangely has come back, don't know why....

I tried mine today As well. 1st time in a while. 1st I tried on batman game. Worked for a second then turned off. Now icon is totally gone. It's there for music and pictures. That's it. I have apple tv2 and 4s. Haven't tried on my new iPad.
