ArcSoft Photoimpression 5 - How did this get on my iMac, can I remove it?

Just noticed this Application (in Finder). If I didn't install it, how did it get there? I'm guessing that it was on the installation disc that came with my Epson Printer/Scanner that I bought along w/ my iMac.

Can I remove this? If so, how? ..I tried just dragging the Application icon to the trash, but this did not remove the PhotoImpression 5 folder in which it was contained. ..If I were to drag the whole folder to the trash, would I be trashing files that other "desired" applications require?
