Q: Brand new Apple battery not working...

I just purchased a new battery for my older white macbook. It says it's fully charged when in is plugged in but when I unplug it, the computer shuts off after about a minute. When unplugged it says it needs a new battery. It is less than a week old and has gone through 3 cycles. What is wrong?!

    Try an SMC reset:

    ...

     

    Power

    The computer doesn't respond to the power button when pressed.

    A portable Mac doesn't appear to respond properly when you close or open the lid.

    The computer sleeps or shuts down unexpectedly.

    The battery does not appear to be charging properly.

    The MagSafe power adaptor LED doesn't appear to indicate the correct activity.

    I went through some of the steps via the link you sent me and as of now that did it. Thank you for your help!
