I spilled soup on my MacBook Pro, please help!?

I spilled soup on the keyboard, so I left my computer upside down and open to try to drain some of the liquid put. My computer turned itself off about a minute after the spill, and it won't turn back on, and I have.no idea why. I will leave my computer open and upside down over night, but is there anything I should do before I take it to the Apple store for repair, or anything that I can do to even avoid having to go there at all?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.3)

I'm not sure even Apple will attempt to repair a mess like that, but you can ask. It is likely that little is salvageable, and AppleCare does not cover accidental damage.

Your best action at this point is to report the accident to your homeowners'/renters' insurance carrier.Quite a few people have said that their deluged notebooks have been replaced under that type of policy, subject to a deductible, of course

you have most likely fried the logic board, which often times is more expensive to fix than just to get a new mac. Go to Apple expecting the worst.

It's DEAD and will cost nearly as much as a new computer would cost to fix it.

So go out and buy a new notebook. And this time don't eat over the top of it.
