Battery problem

I'm having a problem with my battery. It has an "X" and says "No Batteries available". I tried to reset the SMC and PRAM & NVRAM but still no change. So I went to an AppleCare center today to have it checked. They said that maybe it's because of the hardware or the battery itself, but they didn't even bother to check it thoroughly. They just asked me what happened, told me what the problem maybe is and after that nothing else happened. I don't mean to be rude but I think it's pointless to go to an AppleCare center anywhere in my country. Do I need to contact the Apple SG for Asia Pacific for this matter?
