Hi, installing W7 on my Macbook Pro 15. It begins to install windows, asks me to select a drive but when I do it says the partition needs to be in NTFS. With disk utility, I can't seem to change the partition to NTFS, only FAT.

Did you note the pdf guide and read/print export it from Boot Camp Assistant? somewhere around page 22 - sleect BOOTCAMP and click on Advanced Options and format the volume from MSDOS/FAT to NTFS.

Figured out that when it asks you which drive you have the option to format the drive. Thank you, though.
Just a simple question,
would I be able to transfer files back and forth from my Mac partition to the Windows partition with Windows using NTFS formating?
I thought that was not possible. I am thinking of running Parallels to use my boot camp partition
Paragon NTFS, and there are others but some of them have issues.
MacDrive HFS so you can write to Mac HFS partition from Windows.
