upgrade from leopard to lion

Hi, i bought my Macbook Pro just over a year ago and have just turned it on, i am finding it difficult to upgrade.

Can anyone help?

You need to upgrade to Snow Leopard {10.6.8} BEFORE you can go to the App store to purchase the download of Lion {10.7}

You need to purchase Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard from the Apple Store, OR any other store that sells Apple products.

{ I am not 100% sure what version of Snow Leopard comes on the disk }
