    I think we all should call apple support to push them to fix this.

    I call yesterday, and they told the were going to pass the info to "tech" department, but they closed my ticket, and they told that I will need to wait, they told me to put a filter in my mailbox in the meantime, but that "in the meantime" could take a lot of time if they don't see that a lot of people is having the problem.


    They were not aware of this disscusion threat, it seems that they don't read it, it is just like a AA group, people sharing our problems to our selves...

    Yes, you can call Apple support (that is, if you are at AppleCare you can contact iCloud support, they call you back).

    Can someone please tell me exactly where to find this setting that is being referred to in this thread:

    "E-mail me when this calendar is changed."


    I am running 10.7.3 and I can't find this anywhere. People keep saying 'settings in iCloud' but I don't know what that means. Places I've looked:



    System Preferences-->iCloud

    In a web browser, at, in the iCal viewer-->Preferences


    But none of those have this setting people are referring to.


    I ALSO have the same problem as the OP and so many others here.

    When viewing your calendars at, click the "shared calendar info" button next to the calendar of interest (Button is white for unshared calendars, green for shared). In the resulting window, you'll see a checkbox for "email me when this calendar is changed."  For those of us experiencing this issues, the box is UNCHECKED, but we are suddenly receiving email change notifications anyway.     For those of you who have AppleCare - PLEASE call the support line to report the issue. Apple's upper tier support addresses issues based on aggregated reports. These forums are not patrolled by Apple for these purposes. If they don't have enough reports of the issue in their internal database, the problem will not be addressed in a timely fashion. It's important that your "me too!" report go directly to Apple and not just sit here in the forums where we, the consumers, simply commiserate with each other.


    If you have AppleCare, you can speak to someone by phone. Go to ExpressLane for iCloud: and schedule a callback (it can be within 5 minutes, or you can schedule for a later time). You'll need the serial number for the product that your applecare covers (even tho this isn't isn't hardware-specific) and you'll select iCloud calendar issues as the topic. When you get a rep on the phone, explain the problem. You can tell them that there is another open ticket that you know of that reported the same problem. You can use my ticket number:  298865196.


    They have to ask you to do some troubleshooting steps. It's their job. Go through the motions or tell them that you've already tried all the things they've suggested and that you are confident it's an iCloud server issue and not a device or hardware issue. Ask them for YOUR ticket/case # and write it down! Then, PLEASE ask to be escalated to a Senior Advisor and tell the Sr Advisor that you want your ticket to be added to the growing list of reports of this issue.


    Again - the more people who report the problem accurately and thoroughly through AppleCare, the faster it will get escalted through engineering and resolved.

    good comment justlaur My ticket is 298592413 but they closed it, I don't know why, the guy who was helping said it was happening to his personal account as well. They should leave the tickets open until the problem is solved.

    Check the status of your ticket, it could be closed too.

    Thank you justlaur -- your instructions were perfect! 


    I was going crazy mad as to why all of a sudden I was getting notifications -- like, this just started 2 days ago.  Bizzaro! 


    So, somehow, one of my shared calendars was "checked" to notify me of any changes..... (I never checked that). Double Bizzaro.

    I phoned applecare and spoke to the first guy who told me to turn icloud mail off!!!  When I told him this obviously is not the solution and that there is a thread on the forum where lots of poeple are experiencing the same problem he offered to refer me to a senior technician. He was helpful, told me to tick and untick all the email notifications settings, both on the top left (green icon) and in the top right (grey Cogg) preferences advanced send copy notification.  Save it ticked and then go back and save it unticked.  And then try it.


    Guess what...  it didnt work!!  argh!


    I have emailed the technician and just hopeing he emails me back with another solution.  I will keep you informed.


    But everyone, please get onto Apple if you want this to be resolved.

    I also spent 45 minutes on the phone with Apple support, eventually reaching a senior adviser. She still wanted to debug my computers; her comment after I mentioned that my colleagues are suddenly experiencing the same problem, without any one of us having changed any settings, and that there are many new comments on this support forum: "yeah, people complain on the internet."


    Apple may be becoming a company of thick people.

    Personally, every experience I have had witrh Apple Support has been better than expected.  They really do want to take care of business, it just seems to us sometimes that it sould be a snap and that says more about our short-term view than their commitment to getting things right.
