Illustrator Layer Support

i'm an illustrator novice and a motion moron so this is most likely a rather simple query. beyond ampede's layerlink, is there any way to retain illustrator layers in motion? i have been rasterizing in photoshop which obviously retains layers but i'm doing some things where i'd prefer the graphics to stay in their vector states. thanks!

I don't know how to help you with the Illustrator layers, but you could always build the Photo layered version at a higher resolution to retain detail during scaling.

I haven't tried this, but you might be able to get an SWF (Flash) file to work in Motion. Have you ever tried Illustrator's SWF export? I have no idea if layers would be preserved but it might be worth a try.
