Problems importing from Kodak EasyShare C330

I am having trouble importing photos from my Kodak EasyShare C330. The camera stores the photos on an optional SD card I installed. When I hook the camers to my PowerBook, iPhoto recognizes it correctly and launches, but says there are no photos to import. If I take out the SD card and put it in my card reader, everything works correctly: iPhoto launches and imports the photos. I'm not dead in the water by any means, but I'm thinking there must be a way to make it work so I don't have to keep swapping a (very fragile) SD card back and forth. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem. Here's how to fix it:

1. If you already have photos on the SD card on the C330 - go to the camera's menu, scroll til you get to "Image Storage" - switch it to "Internal" and take a picture.

2. connect C330 to computer - iPhoto should now recognize that you have photos, and be able to retrieve them from both the internal storage and additional memory card.

The problem appears to be that because there is no photo stored in the "internal" built-in storage on the camera, iPhoto doesn't recognize the additional memory card and therefore sees no photos to import. By having at least one photo in the built in storage, you should be able to solve the problem.
