Arabic QWERTY keybrd - where is superscript alef (dagger alif)?

The dagger alif shows up often enough in Arabic -- I haven't found it on the Arabic keyboard yet, even with Show Keyboard Viewer and checking through the option, shift, shift-option menus. I have the feeling it must be somewhere -- I'm sure a few people have tried the keyboard out before (and after) Apple released it:-) It's really annoying to have to go to the Character Viewer, lookup Superscript alif, and click back and forth to insert it just to type common words like "this" and "that" ( هٰذَا or ذٰلِكَ ) for example. Sort of like making you cut and paste the letter u in English -- not the most common vowel, b-wait a min-pasting here-u-te-u-t annoying to lose :-)

Is there an easy proced*re to attach dagger alif to an *n*sed or otherwise d*plicated key?

Assalam alaikum

for MAC: while your arabic keyboard is selected/active press the key: option + the key H and the small alif should display inshAllah, if it don't display with H, try with other keys. it should display هٰذا, and in this way هـٰذا if you use the last left button ( which look like an low line هــــــــٰ) to support the small alif.

I hope this can help you.

wassalam.

There is no small alif on the Arabic QWERTY keyboard mentioned in the original question 5 years ago. Let us know if you find one there.

option + h works for the Arabic and Arabic PC keyboards.
