Q: Mac Mini & Wireless Keyboard

I'm fairly new to the workings of a Mac so appologies if this is a dumb question.

I have recently purchased a new Mac Mini with a wireless keyboard & Magic trackpad. Both of these connect and appear to work without any problems.

If i go into system preferences then the trackpad I can click onto 'setup bluetooth trackpad" it shows that the trackpad is paired and everthing appears OK.

However if I do the same for the keyboard i get the message that it is waiting for the bluetooth keyboard to connect. Then tells me that no keyboard can be found.

This is obviously not the case as I am using the keyboard to type this question.

As far as i am aware I have the latest version of Lion and everthing appearst to up to date.

Any help gratefully received.

Do you need to press something on the wireless keyboard to put it in "pairing/discoverable mode"? Ooo, just checked, I think so:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1809

That probably explains the message. The keyboard isn't in "pairing/discoverable mode", broadcasting that's it's available. If you want to pair it again then you'll need to put it in pairing/discoverable mode, even if it's already paired. But it's something to remember if you want to pair it with another future Mac.
