Is anybody else getting a yellowish hue on their new iPad?

OMG another new iOS device same complaining... Everyone chill out, this same issue has been reported every time new iOS device pops up since iPhone 4 or 3GS... IT GOES AWAY AFTER A WEEK. Just frsh out of the factory.. So your pics and everything will look great... Yeyyy now go play same games on quad graphics!!!!! Yeahhh baby!!!!

Mine is yellow too I'm disappointed. Compared to my ipad 2, the 3 is inferior. Maybe it's the glue. Maybe not. This is my first apple product that hasn't been perfect.

It is the glue... Every ios device i bought had that amd it went away.. What else is wrong with it?. Heat in lower back is normal too. Not an issue.. It doesn't burn you or make your hands sweat so?. What else doesn't work...

My only complait is that magnets seem bit weak but not a biggy.. Still stay closed

Just to clarify myself, I am talking about yellow tint... Not brightness. Your brightness is affected by you brightness slider and automatic lighting conditions switch... If you switch auto dim off and set brightness to what you want it will stay consistent.. As far as colors go, iPad 3 has 40% more saturation. So colors will pop a lot more. It is very noticeable even at main screen. That is one of the features of retna display. Colors somewhat remind me of my cinema display. Some people won't like that I love it...

As far as yellow tint goes, don't stress over that.. Over time you it will go away and you won't even notice it in few weeks.. Look at "more like this" column on the right of this post. Every iOS device since 3GS had this issue in initial batch cause all units very straight out of factory and glue was fresh.... I had it on my iPhone 4, iPad 2, iPhone 4S, and now on iPad 3 but not as bad as 4S.. That was worst but it went away... It's just initial batch cause they are trying to ship the, ASAP to meet the demand..

Anyone experiencing this will see it fade as others have said...the price of being the first kids on the block with the new toy :-)

Exactly.....I've had it on iPhone 4 and iPad 2, both of which went away completely within about a week of use.

To all who are fretting over this. Don't. Use your devices for a week or two and really use them to burn in the screen. If after a couple weeks your screen is not to your liking, return it. You have a one year warranty after all.

Just received my black 64 GB wifi only and the screen is exquisite. No color cast whatsoever, and really jaw-dropping clarity.

Hopefully you can get replacements soon for any screens that aren't up to this standard.

Yellowish tint? No, not at all.

Glue?? That's absurd! Do you work for Apple? My screen has a yellowish tint as well, as do many others after looking around the internet, and people aren't happy.

Samsung supposedly made the majority of the displays, but LG also made a small amount too. LG made the ipad 1 screens, which I had and the screen was perfect. I think it's the Samsung displays that are yellowish, and the LG that are bluish and look more like ipad 1. That's why a small number of people are saying their screen looks perfect. It probably does.

@Lindon85... Yes I completely understand that you are feeling disappointed, I am just saying that the same thing was said about the iPad 2 one year ago and it turned out that the yellowing disappeared after about a week. It may have been an excuse, but there certainly weren't any reports of yellowing after that time.

I too have a slight yellow tint to the display, but not to the extent that it is ruining my whole experience. The screen is mind blowing and Apple have done an amazing job in getting twice as much into almost the same space. It's incredible to think about how far this product has come and will continue to go.

Have you noticed with the lights off, there is absolutely no light bleed at all? That's the benefit of the new screens being made by Samsung.

Apple have absolutely no problem in replacing units that are to to the customer's satisfaction and hold stock just for that. You can exchange or return at any time during the first 14 days with no fuss whatsoever.

Even if this slight tint doesn't go away, my experience is that by taking it back you won't get any better than you have in your hands already, and I know that whatever I feel is abnormal now will be normal to me in a few days.

I bought the 64Gb 4G model, so have a huge investment into this product, and very pleased that I made it.

Hope that helps explain a little where I am coming from. Just be patient for now, and make a decision in a weeks time if it is still annoying you or has not improved. In the meantime, Wow! I absolutely love this thing! :)

Just saying the glue theory .. Er. .. Stuck last year because it went away after a week. Glue? Maybe not, but they certainly settled in.
