Q: Is anybody else getting a yellowish hue on their new iPad?

Hi guys, i need your help. I just got my new iPad today 4G+Wifi 64GB (white) and i am getting a distinct yellowish hue on my retina display. On my iPad 2 it is clearly much nicer and brighter in terms of the resolution. I was making the two comparisons by using safari and just opening up a blank white page with the brightness tuned to the max on both, i could tell the new iPad is yellowish and the iPad 2 is white and crisp. I mean is apple kidding me? Retina display with more pixels results in yellowish crappy resolution than my iPad 2? Im not sure if i should return this junk back to the apple store or if they do replace me will they give me back the same crappy display. I am stuck in a middle right now as my authorised reseller is currently out of stock and when i called apple support today they were telling me i would have to wait much longer if they have to ship it back to me. This is really ridiculous and i hope if anyone shares the same problem do drop me a reply.

Thanks.

I think at this moment I'll wait for a comparable Android tablet.

The thing is though. Android tablets will probably suffer from screen issues, but are less well known about due to them not selling has many tablets has what Apple do. With the iPad been the best selling tablet, and therefore more people own them, the screen issues are more well known/heard about. I expect Apple's quality control to be greater than other tablet manufacturers.

I admit, its unacceptable to have a screen issue on a device costing as much as the new iPad, but the only options that are available if you are having a screen issue, are to either keep returning/replacing it until you get a good screen, or get a refund.

My first iPad 3 had a yellow patch on a portion of the screen, so I got a replacement sent out, I was lucky with the replacement has its got a perfect screen, no discoloration and its a uniformly white screen, no backlight leakage. I used some calibration images to check for any colaration/screen imperfections and there were none. I also tried looking at the iPad's screen with a black calibration image in a pitch black cupboard to see if there was any backlight leakage and again there was none.

I took a picture of my screen to show it on another forum, but the way the screen looks with the naked eye, to how it looks on the picture I'd took with the camera, did not do it justice. Too be honest, I think its a fruitless exercise to try and show any screen issues on the iPad, by taking a picture of its screen with a camera, the camera just can't see the picture the same has the naked eye in my opinion.

Me too. I'm having the Same issue. My new iPad is 4 days old and it has yellow cast near facetime camera. Moreover, I found multiple bright stuck pixels. I bought my device from MediaWorld (mediamarket) and they don't see the issue (blind ?). Really disappointed by Apple quality controls (????).

I'm not bothered by stuck pixels, but I can't handle with the yellowgate.

Should I wait or should I send it to Apple?

Any screen issue is unacceptable, so I would get the iPad replaced.

Just download the pictures and then add them onto the iPad.

Add them onto your iPad, then you basically view the image and see if there are any screen imperfections (missing/dead pixels), or other screen issues etc.

The images/color of the images are to allow easy finding of any screen problems etc.
