Gorgeous wallpaper in the new iPad ad?

I don't think it's being 'witheld' or anything, it's just a Photo. Apple possibly used as a demo photo, they may not even own it, hence the reason it isn't included with the product.

And if you're here to troll, please don't, it makes the experience much worse for those of us that are here for honest reasons.

Go to Settings-Brightness & Wallpaper, and click on the arrow at the right side of Wallpaper. Then select Wallpaper at the top. This will take you to the images supplied by Apple.

If the one you want is not there, you can add others to your Photo Library and use them.

Only one I have seen, the wallpaper is visible on the home screen at the end of the ad and it is the default one.

That's not wallpaper, it's a photo. The app being used appears to be iPhoto. No idea where you can get the photo, though.

There are millions of similar photos available in the Internet for "fair use" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_use) that you can use as wallpaper on your iPad.

Anyway, the image, the Hibiscus flower part of the Costa Rica folder demo photos shown in advertisements is nowhere to be found except in demo videos and commercials.

Kind of ***** because you can't actually do what they showed in the commercial.

I believe it is deliberately unavailable. I don't know why though.

Nobody is trolling. I don't have time for that. I just want the photo. Reading down a list of responses saying that there are millions of similar photos is not helpful, I want THAT particular photo. Anyway, what sense doesn't make for Apple to use a photo in a commercial that they don't own? It's displayed on their iPad. They advertised it to us.

Either way, if Apple doesn't own it, who does? You can't find the photo anywhere. Also, the term that was sensored in my ore joys post is not an expletive.

The photo appeas to be in one of many image editing apps available in the app store. Could be a stock photo that comes with it, or just one selected for the ad. Now way to tell. I suggest you try to contact Apple.

I'll try contacting them one last time. They did not respond last time. And once, I was transferred to some person in India.

The photo appears to be inside a photo editing app? How did you reach that conclusion? I checked iPhoto, and it isn't there.

Also, every associate I've talked to was under the impression that the pink hibiscus flower photo was a wallpaper and that the full resolution photo was available.

I've scoured every display model iPad, only to find tgat they have other random images. Highly misleading.

I'm NOT referring to iPhoto, but one of the dozens of other apps available for editing and manipulating images. Check the apps store.

There is NOTHING in the ad to suggest it is a wall paper, or to suggest it would be readily available to you. It is simply used to show the device's capabilities. Nor is there anything misleading about it.

Is this the image you are referring to? It's in the photo app in this picture and could have come from anywhere.

Not only for the iPad or iPhone but for everything. I love that under the images you can see the compatibility before even clicking on them. Usually I just download them into my computer and then transfer them to the iPad, but you can just use the browser and download them right from it too. I have had so many compliments from people. With the new display they look amazing!!

How do you know it's available in another app? And I believe it is misleading. How is it showing the devices capabilities if we can't see it for ourselves?

In the ad, I wanted to do what they were doing, but because the image isn't available, I don't really know what they were doing in the ad.

Why would you show something to us that we can't do ourselves?

Everyone thought it would be availible. They have other demo photos, just not THAT one. What? why?

In this case, what you see is NOT what you get. You can only see that flower photo from an angle and I'd actually like to see the full resolution version.

It exists somewhere, but I don't know where.

I don't have time for this nonsense either but I am compelled to respond after reading your posts.

There is absolutely nothing to lead you to believe that the flower photo is a standard wallpaper or included on the new iPad. Apple is merely showing what the iPad is capable of doing. They are showing somebody using an iPad on the commercial - and that is all that they are doing. They do not claim that the photo or any of the apps that you see them using are included and I'm not sure why you reason it this way.

I saw a commercial last night for new Reebok sneakers where every person in the ad, had abs of steel - and these people were working out to beat the band at a pace that would kill a man of my age and physical condition. Now should I think that if I buy those shoes, I will be able to workout like the people in the commercial?

I don't think so - and no reasonable thinking human being would think so. The ad simply shows what people in the proper physical condition might be able to do when wearing those shoes. I have no expectation that I can keep up the same pace that these people were keeping up just because I bought and wore the shoes in the ad.

I can appreciate your point, but it actually isn't very effective. The difference is that we're dealing with the actual product here. Had those Nike shoes had laces that don't actually come with the shoes or had a different design on the shoes that you don't have access to, then we would have a valid argument.

Suffice it to say that Apple should not be showing us something we cannot have. I mean, the photo is everywhere. Then you walk up to the iPad and it's nowhere to be found. When they begin to do things on the iPad that you cannot realistically do, that is false marketing.

Apple has the same problem with their more recent ads. This never happened with the iPad 2.

Either way, I want the photo. Why show it to us and we can't really see it?
