Clone Lion to an external drive.

Download the drivers which you will need via Boot Camp Assistant.

Windows can format and use your entire hard drive.

Carbon Copy Cloner 3.4 can clone your Lion Recovery and main HFS partition to your external drive. Your 2011 came with Lion and with network insall but good to have a local copy OS X.

So really it is just that you can't download the Boot Camp Apple drivers directly inside Windows. Normally you would do that to get hardware support.

I will repeat myself: download the drivers, save them.

You get rid of OS X after or actually during the install.

It isn't that hard. The backup drive for emergency is just that.

You can convert that into a Windows NTFS and for backup and system image/restore later.

another way is to create a bootable windows with something like Casper 7 and then go ahead and wipe clean the Mac disk then go ahead and clone WIth Casper 7 back to the fresh Mac Hard drive 😀
