How to install only Windows 7 OS on my MacBook pro?

Would somebody please guide me if is it possible to install Windows 7 on my MacBook without having OS X Lion, If yes then how?

Clone Lion to an external drive.

Download the drivers which you will need via Boot Camp Assistant.

Windows can format and use your entire hard drive.


Carbon Copy Cloner 3.4 can clone your Lion Recovery and main HFS partition to your external drive. Your 2011 came with Lion and with network insall but good to have a local copy OS X.


So really it is just that you can't download the Boot Camp Apple drivers directly inside Windows. Normally you would do that to get hardware support.
