i want more.. like a tutorial.

anyone have a good tutorial for textedit? we;'ve made the official switch but i cant get it down. just simple papers etc. i cant get the format to stay put. i'd like to make a decent executive summary and other documents that i need to look as perfect as possible. everytime i open it the format i had is gone. after 23 years os a pc..i need to learn this and i am just looking for help thanks much!

If you want/need more formatting choices and some pre-defined document templates you don't have to create from scratch, look at Pages from the Mac App Store, for about $20.

Pages has most of the features of Microsoft Word for Windows, but it does take a while to adjust to a completely different user interface.

There are also free 'Office-compatible' suites available for Mac OS X such as NeoOffice.org and OpenOffice.org.
