I have had a podcast for a year and a half and haven't changed anything regarding the art in a long time, but suddenly my podcast art has disappeared and it's just displaying the generic iTunes podcast icon.
I checked on the server and the art file is still there in the same place.
My RSS feed is http://feeds.feedburner.com/WalkingDeadcast
Anyone know what could be the problem?

Your image is a TIFF: http://www.walkingdeadcast.com/wp-content/uploads/cover_art.tif
I'm surprised this ever showed in the Store as it's not an acceptable format - images need to be JPEG or PNG. You should recreate this image as a JPEG - give it a different name - upload it to your server and change the feed accordingly. It will probably take some days for the Store to recognize the new image.

Thanks! I did as you said. I'll update this thread to say my problem was solved when the art shows up in iTunes.
Roger, is there a way I can tell whether I have all my ducks in a row before the image actually shows up in iTunes?
The image is correctly referenced, BUT your feed is unreadable because you have a stray 'f' at the very beginning:
f<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
Just remove this and you should be OK. As I say, the image won't show up for some time but it looks OK.

BTW, I think Apple may have just recently started cracking down on the rules for podcast art file formats. I see a bunch of generic podcast icons in the listings now.

I woudn't have thought TIFF was ever acceptable - browsers mostly won't show them, and as they are not compressed they are very much larger than JPEGS.
That's odd. When I look at my RSS file, I see this line:

I tried searching on "tif" and nothing came up (aside from a few instances of the word "beautiful"). I wonder what I'm missing. Is Feedburner doing something to the file after I edit it? If so, I'm not sure how to get to the post-Feedburner-edited file (or how to change the appropriate setting in Feedburner).
I looked at http://feeds.feedburner.com/WalkingDeadcast and it's definitely a TIFF. I would have expected Feedburner simply to pick it up from your original feed. There may be a setting in Feedburner but it shouldn't be neceesary to over-ride the original.

And then I pinged Feedburner. But the Feedburner feed still references the .tif file.
I'm afraid I don't know how you get round that one. Possibly it will update when you next add an episode.
I see you've managed to update it: and the image is now showing in the Store page and in the Search results, which is pretty quick.
Yep, I had forgotten that I also specified the image location in Feedburrner, in the SmartCast section under the Optimize tab. After changing it there, my art appeared quickly in iTunes.

We are experiencing a similar issue - both our Podcasts are now missing their icons - we've had these podcasts for 5 years and this is the first time the Icon images are missing. This seems to be an issue that alot of people are having. Can you help us?
Could you please post this question as a new thread and include the URLs of both your feed and the Store page - this latter can be found by control-clicking on the podcast image (or where it should be) - and choosing 'Copy link'. Please include the http:// in both cases to make the links clickable. Without this information it's not really possible to make any sensible comment.

We have had our Podcast at iTunes for 5 years and never had an issue with the icon in our feed.
This just noticed this happening this morning.

Our ITunes Podcast is http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/modtv-fashion-network-podcast/id111082774
We checked our Feedburner settings and noticed that the icon was not showing up so we changed the url for the image to this.
http://modtvnetwork.com/podcasts/modtv/modtv_icon.jpg
It is still not showing up in iTunes. Perhaps it still needs to update. Any suggestions you can provide would be so appreciated. Thank you so much in advance.
