Q: Does Airplay make music through Airport Express obsolete?

Does Airport Express with streaming music still have any advantages to using Airplay to stream music?

No, the Airport Express is an AirPlay device...

You need the Express to use AirPlay..
or, an AppleTV
or, some 3rd party devices now have AirPlay built-in
