EVERY SINGLE APP I TRY TO DOWNLOAD IT JUST WAITS!!!! I've tryed everything and nothing works and I'm about to go crazy. HELP
iPhone 4S, iOS 5.0.1
This is happening with my iPhone 4. It didn't start straight after I updated to 5.1. I updated to 5.1 last Saturday. The phone started playing up about Wednesday. I've tried alsorts. Next thing will be to try a restore. But something tells me this is a bug with 5.1
Try contacting iTunes store support here: http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html. I believe they can remove waiting apps from the download queue for you.
You can remove the waiting app by removing it like you would any app. It's the fact it happens with every app that's attempted to be downloaded including app updates!
Ya I can remove them any time but the thing is I CAN'T download anything like
You said downloading or updating at all. My only guess why this JUST started happening is maby because the new iPad just came out and every app on the app store needs updating for the RETNA iPad but idk. Still think there might be something else wrong though
I'm having the same exact problem--purchased 2 apps (one earlier this morning and one about 30 minutes ago) and each one just sat in "waiting" status. So I deleted the "waiting" app from my iPhone 4S, went to iTunes Store > Quick Links > Purchased and downloaded each app to my computer. I was then able to drag each app onto my iPhone.
Because I am able to download apps in iTunes, I'll hazard a guess that it has nothing to do with the new iPad. Something's up on the iPhone. Using iTunes is a workaround, but it's annoying to say the least that I can't purchase and install apps directly on my iPhone!
ETA: I had 10 installed apps that needed updates, and the updates installed with no problem. It's only the newly purchased apps that won't install for me.

I did this yesterday when I was near my computer and the app updated but still I'm no where near my computer and like I said the iOS app store still won't update. Any other solution not including computer?
This may work for you but not be but i heard the best way it go to settings, store, logout and log in and if that doesn't work do settings, store, turn off automatic or manually stop all downloads on itunes( biggest problem podcasts)

Yep I am having the exact same issue. I am going into the Apple store this morning to see if they can figure out what the heck is going on - I suspect its another failed iOS upgrade from apple as this only started for me after i upgraded to iOS 5.1..ðŸ˜
If I find out anything I'll let you know.

OK so I've been to the apple store and they just told me to connect my phone to iTune and to do a full backup and restore. I have done this and I can now download apps straight to my phone without them "waiting" for hours.

Will a restore mess up all of my folders?
I'm having the same issue. I can't download or update any app from my phone. I can download or updat on Itunes on my computer then do a sync and the apps will update to the phone but will not update through the phone itself, very frustrating as I am rarly near my computer.
