    Guess I did't phrase that correctly. Is this screen a error dump from the iPad itself or a screen from the console of your router? If its from the iPad did the iPad crash and restart or ??????? Sorry I wasn't clear before..

    Having similar problems. Way too many crashes already and iPad claiming to be offline in exact same spot iphone4 is working just fine. On the upside, Christ those error messages look pretty on that fancy new retina display. I have the world's most attractive paperweight. Hooray.

    Yes, same here. MacBook Pro as well as iPhone 4S show 'Full Fan' - new iPad (16GB WIFI) shows 'one dot' or just flat drops the wifi connection (and is often unable to seach and find it). This was not a problem with my just sold first gen iPad. Now the question is, do I just return for refund or roll dice on a replacement...

    C'mon Apple, let's fix this STAT!

    A little more testing and I found that switching to the 2.4ghz band helps with the range but even that band gets farther range using the old iPad 2 by a factor of 2. I'm so glad I didn't sell it (iPad 2) like I started to do. Dang Apple what's up with delivering us all bad goods?

    I am so happy to see this forum.  I am SO disappointed with the iPad 3.  First, I found the tint way too yellow vs the cool white of iPad 2.  I returned it to the store today and exchanged it for another iPad 3.  But the wifi is driving me nuts.  My wheel keeps spinning waiting for pages to connect while lying on my bed.  I have VERY high speed.  I went and got my iPad 2 to compare - and sure enough, the connections are just whizzing on old faithful.   What is UP?   And strangely there is really no Internet chatter about this.  I'm glad that I arranged to sell my iPad 2 to my cousin, because I was initially intending to sell it on craigslist.  I will give it a few more days then just sell the new one.  I love the screen but if it is slow to connect, what good is it?

    Routers that are dual-band may have trouble with ipad. This is documented in apple's KB. If it is a problem with an apple airport product, apple should definitely be able to help. If it is a problem with a third party router, make sure the router's firmware is up to date. Then contact Apple Support, notify them of the issue, follow any recommended steps, and get a case number with a date.


    You have the right to a hardware replacement if you need one.



    1. Does the network name appear on the list?

    2. With a utility similar to istumbler, do one or two bands appear on the list?


    In my experience, the channel on your router should be set to "auto". The mode on your router may also needd to be tweaked so that it is using a standard spec (G, N etc.) and not trying to extend the range using proprietary protocols.

    I got the New iPad on Friday 3/16/12 and noticed the WiFi was cutting in and out no matter my distance from the router.  Returned the New iPad to Best Buy later that day and they were able to replicate the problem using their WiFi signal.  I was able to exchange the unit for a new one that same day.  Now the new unit does not have any WiFi problems.

    I tested it again this morning, using the wifi signal from my 4G Verizon, rather than wifi - just to see if another signal would do better, and it was the setting perhaps on my wifi router at home.  But no - the strength of the signal on the simultaneous test on the ipad 2 and ipad 3 was night and day.  The 3 was somewhere between 1 and 2 mb, while the 2 was about 10.

    FYI, I'm having the exact same problem as reported by everyone else here.  iPad 1 and iPhone 4s and laptop all have perfect wifi connections.  iPad3 has serious connection problems.  I ran app on both devices side by side and iPad3 has half the throughput as all other devices. 


    Thinking of stopping by the Apple Store to what is the issue; I may just relocate the router to a more central place in the home as well; but frustrating since no other device, including Ipad1 and 4s, are having this issue.

    I just tested it a few minutes ago.  When I put both iPads in my office, right near my router, both picked up the signal at the same strength, eg about 18 to 20mb.


    When I did it in my bedroom, which has to pick up the signal through walls and hallways - and never had a problem before - the difference became pronounced:  the iPad 2 was 15 to 20mb, and the iPad 3 was 3 or 4.

    my shiny new ipad arrived on Friday via an online apple store order, it's about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. wifi only works when i'm within 6 ft of my router - which is right at the side of my desktop machine - no point using an ipad there.... If this is not resolved by Friday, then it's going back, and I'll order a new one from the apple store. I'll keep doing that until i get one that works. If we all do the same, then Apple may just get the message
