Apr 4, 2012 4:17 PM in response to Thatchcoteby Jermil05,I could care less about bands. I do a lot about speed. Close to the router, I'm getting 10 mb downloads; 20 feet farther out I'm getting .250 mb downloads, and everything is grinding to a halt.
I'm also not so sure this is a minor problem. I have a different theory: i.e. that many people who buy Apple products are not very tech-savy (that's why they bought Apple), and are not on these boards, and wouldn't know if they were having a real problem or not.

Apr 4, 2012 4:25 PM in response to stlsteveby myhand,Everyone please stop spamming the board with offtopic noise.
If it is not something new about the poor WiFi, it should not be here. -
Apr 4, 2012 4:34 PM in response to Jermil05by Thatchcote,Don't be a snob!!! It doesn't take an MIT graduate to know that web pages take forever to load or load quickly!!! No one would be happy with a new product that didn't work fast as advertised!

Call Apple owners not very tech savy... Compare to what?
I am a Windows guy even though I have an ipad. My wife likes Apple better. During her PC days she always asked me for help if something was wrong, now she signs for classes at the Apple store, visit the store and ask questions at the genius stand, and knows more than me about her Apple products. In your opinion Apple owner have no idea if they had an ipad that was getting so hot (as many have posted here) as being uncomfortable because they are not tech savy? They have terrible wifi reception and drop off all the time (like posted here) and they just go along and just quit and put it down because they are not tech savy...
So I wonder how you come to your conclusion and again, compare to whom?
PS: Do not mention linux because it is not important in this conversation. Or you deduce that the people that walk into Best Buy and buy a cheap android tablet are more tech savy than the ones that have researched their purchase, than the ones that buy just on price?

Apr 4, 2012 7:28 PM in response to stlsteveby boarhogsm,I wanted to post an update, I contacted Apple, I sent my iPad 3 in for testing and evaluation after having some initial problems. I sent it off Monday and received it today, excellent service!!
Apple contact me, they told me they re-flashed to firmware on the system and could not reproduce the problems I was having. They sent me back my original iPad 3 but it of course had been erased. I used the iCloud to restore my settings and apps, it worked great.
When it delivered today, I took it out of the box and it connected to my wireless router no problem, this is the same router it would not connect to before. It appears to be working fine, no problems whatsoever.
I am at a loss as to how this fixed it. I suppose that on a massive scale, it is possible for hardware to receive a bad firmware load. Whatever happened, it works fine now.
I figured I would share my experience.
