Apr 5, 2012 8:07 AM in response to stlsteveby aclockworkorangutan,I don't seem to be having any issues with my new iPad (64 GB WiFi only). Thank goodness!
Curious though, is there an app out there I can download that monitors my signal strength, data throuput, etc. and logs it to a file. Such an app could be used to post definitive results here and also provide them to Apple.

Apr 5, 2012 8:22 AM in response to PhilMan99by Usmaak,It does not appear to have anything to do with metal, at least in my case. I've noticed that most of my drops happen when touching the front of the iPad, in the bottom left when holding it in landscape. I put a Bear Motion case on it. This case covers the entire iPad. I no longer get drops on the WiFi signal meter, but my download speed is still cut in half.

Apr 5, 2012 8:40 AM in response to aclockworkorangutanby Gat0r,Must have been really lucky. I have had zero issues with my new ipad as well. It works perfectly with wifi and reception is as good as any of my other devices.
It has not dropped once and shows full bars all over my house and outside with the router upstairs.

Apr 5, 2012 8:58 AM in response to stlsteveby NoWiFiiPad,Having the same issue. it is really annoying and frustrating, makes me want to pull my hair and cry. my wifi signal drops every 10-15 minutes. we have 9 apple products at home (4 4th gen ipod touch, 2 macbook pros, ipad 2, iphone4s and my new ipad) and for some reason i am the only one with the wifi reception issue. i am a big time apple fan boy but its getting annoying... every product they release has issues that we have to deal with. i seriously cant wait for MICROSOFT WINDOWS 8 to come out.

Apr 5, 2012 9:01 AM in response to NoWiFiiPadby clipper99,So take it back and get another one. I feel your pain, really I do because I am having issues but doesn't appear to be as bad as yours. As far as your Windows 8 statement goes that sounds a little melodramatic. I seriously can't wait for you to report back to how successful you are in that endeavor! :-)

Apr 5, 2012 9:14 AM in response to clipper99by NoWiFiiPad,2011 11" macbook air: trackpad no good, iphone 4: antennagate, screen problem, New ipad: Wifi Issues.
a trillion dollar company like apple shouldnt have stupid probelms like that. Apple should invest some of their $100 billion Cash in research and development testing before hyping up products and disappointing us. dont get me wrong i love apple products i am a huge fan but its the same thing over and over again. the first batch is always beta like.

Apr 5, 2012 9:25 AM in response to clipper99by CubanBlood,Stop ******** people. If you have problems with you iPad take it back. I have all three iPads and i have zero problems with the wifi.
Apple has sold over 4 million new iPad and 700 - 800 have problems. Big deal. Nobody is perfect. Take you iPad back and get a new one.

Apr 5, 2012 9:37 AM in response to CubanBloodby A2A2,I'm having the same issue. If 800 people are complaining about it on this thread, you can bet a lot more people are having the same issue. It is a big deal. I don't want to have to go to the store and get a new one and then set the new one up.

Apr 5, 2012 9:41 AM in response to stlsteveby URSOLUSOB,I have the wifi issues, however, mine IS a Verizon LTE model (32GB, black). Took it into Apple yesterday and was told it was because I had too many apps open. He closed them all and reset unit and said that should fix it ( I was skeptical, but hey, I'm willing to try anything). Took it home and within half hour of using it on wifi, dropouts began (7 within 40 minute window). So it did not fix. Will be heading back tonight. FWIW, I got this on day after launch and the issues have been there all along - I was just hoping/waiting for a software update to correct.....Tried new firmware on router, no help. 2 Android phones, 2 Win 7 laptops and a PS3 all in the same room have no wifi issues with my router (D-Link DIR655). My first Apple product and I love it, but frustrated to be tarnished by something as lame as wifi issues.

Apr 5, 2012 9:43 AM in response to stlsteveby Christiejo,I got my iPad 2 for Christmas and have been experiencing connectivity issues since day one. My most common problem is the iPad not identifying available networks. For instance, my home WiFi is available and I have not experienced connectivity problems with any other device I use to connect. It is frustrating when I am in the middle of a project and it loses connection. I have tried power cycling it, but in general I just have to wait till the iPad randomly reconnects.

Apr 5, 2012 9:46 AM in response to Christiejoby wtspeegle,Exactly behaviour on my new iPad. It is very intermittant, but when it loses my home WiFi, toggling off and on doesn't help, it just finds it again when it is ready to. Nothing helps that I have found.

Apr 5, 2012 9:51 AM in response to stlsteveby McDisc,My issue appears to be itermittantly slow WiFi on new iPad3. Results in video -- but not audio -- being dropped on Cox TV app, for example. No similar problem on our iPad2 using same app.

Apr 5, 2012 9:51 AM in response to A2A2by clipper99,A2A2, nobody wants to do that so until apple addresses this publicly with either a statement or solution we're all in the same boat waiting. I will say this, as long as you do a full back up iTunes before exchanging our ipad, setting up a new one is so simple. Near as I can tell from having to exchange myown iPad the only thing a backup doesn'tdo is remember your passwords.
Good luck
