Bluetooth pairing but not connecting!

Trying to connect my iPad 3 to OS X 10.6.x via bluetooth. The device pairing is successful but after I select Browse Device, the connection is unsucessful and the followign message appears.

"The device does not have the necessary services."


Any help to resovle this issue is apprecaited.

iPad (3rd generation) Wi-Fi, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

If I'm reading your post correctly, I must assume you are trying to connect your iPad to your Mac via Bluetooth? If I'm correct, you can not. Bluetooth on iPad is limited to pairing with devices like speakers, or keyboards.
