Mar 18, 2012 6:30 AM in response to Froggie213by Frank Caggiano,★HelpfulYikes, that is a problem! No way to know when the camera will be supported in Aperture there was just a RAW update pushed out so it might be a while.
In the meantime you should be able to convert the RAW's to DNG's and import those. See Adobe's Camera Raw Converter
good luck

Mar 18, 2012 5:00 PM in response to Frank Caggianoby Acetone.,Seeing a apple only just release a raw update last week I sorry to say it maybe a while.
I guess you could use DPP and covert to tiffs for now.
PS I thought 5D III were still a pre-order item, you got yours quick.

Mar 19, 2012 12:41 AM in response to Acetone.by huskyte,Looking at the update and the recently supported cameras I would speculate (SPECULATE) a quick support. But it might come with AP4 then. This is just a speculation.
The recent update at least showed that the update cycle gets a bit quicker.

Mar 22, 2012 7:22 AM in response to Froggie213by steveurwin,I have just got mine today in the post. Found I have the same problem. Hoping the software in the box might be able to convert them over to something more usable, otherwise I might have to revert back to my 7D until the Raw Update is released

Mar 22, 2012 8:15 AM in response to steveurwinby Keith Barkley,Yes, DPP will let you do a fine job of converting the raw files as well as access to the new features like HDR and chromatic aberation correction:

Mar 22, 2012 10:09 AM in response to Frank Caggianoby bob Keenan,I am using the DNG method until the new Apple raw comes out. The DNG images look and behave like the cr2 images only a little smaller in size. The question I have is there a difference in the image quality of the resulting tiff or jpeg any different than what would come out of DPP. I find DPP to be less easy to use than Aperture. I think you can do batch DPP to TIFF's but then you are doing the fine tuning on TIFFs not raw in aperture.

Mar 23, 2012 8:04 AM in response to bob Keenanby Keith Barkley,Well, Canon's new DPP with DLO sure promises some amazing (and seemingly impossible!) things. It claims to correct for, among other things, diffraction and the low pass filter!
Who needs an D800e?

Mar 23, 2012 8:40 AM in response to Keith Barkleyby Kirby Krieger,OT: I found this explanation useful. It makes sense to me that if the AA filter is physical, reversing the effect would have to be physical (prior to recording data). I don't see how it could be cancelled in PP (though it might be reduced).

Mar 23, 2012 8:30 PM in response to Froggie213by 5d Mark III User :-(,Hmmm...this is very disappointing...my first time I have said this with Apple and I am feeling restless.
I have my 5 DIII in hand and uploaded files to my 6 TB Aperture library and I get incompatibility issues with RAW.
I hope this happens soon as I may leave Aperture for good...thought I would never say that...
- SO VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Mar 23, 2012 9:36 PM in response to 5d Mark III User :-(by M_C_K ,Ok,
I've had this issue since I bought mine on March 17. Lucky to get the camera that day, unlucky to be dependent on Aperture to manage files. what gives? Looking at options to get around this. APPLE vs. CANON .. come on and get it on

Mar 23, 2012 10:10 PM in response to Froggie213by 5d Mark III User :-(,Apple-- why the D800 Update and not the 5diii...***? 5diii shipped first..is Apple in bed with Nikon now. What Are your plans? Right now I'm not happy with Aperture as a 5diii user.
Very disappointed!
