Canon 5D Mk III - RAW update?
Currently Aperture does not support this, when will there be an update?
Aperture 3, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

I just shot a wedding at 90% RAW files only that are not supported, JPG's are OK.
Will some one talk to the bride....?
Yikes, that is a problem! No way to know when the camera will be supported in Aperture there was just a RAW update pushed out so it might be a while.
In the meantime you should be able to convert the RAW's to DNG's and import those. SeeAdobe's Camera Raw Converter
good luck
Seeing a apple only just release a raw update last week I sorry to say it maybe a while.
I guess you could use DPP and covert to tiffs for now.
PS I thought 5D III were still a pre-order item, you got yours quick. 😕
Looking at the update and the recently supported cameras I would speculate (SPECULATE) a quick support. But it might come with AP4 then. This is just a speculation.
The recent update at least showed that the update cycle gets a bit quicker.
Thanks for all your help, hopefully there will be a fix soon. I got the camera last Thursday in Dublin, very happy with it.
I have just got mine today in the post. Found I have the same problem. Hoping the software in the box might be able to convert them over to something more usable, otherwise I might have to revert back to my 7D until the Raw Update is released 😟
Yes, DPP will let you do a fine job of converting the raw files as well as access to the new features like HDR and chromatic aberation correction:

I am using the DNG method until the new Apple raw comes out. The DNG images look and behave like the cr2 images only a little smaller in size. The question I have is there a difference in the image quality of the resulting tiff or jpeg any different than what would come out of DPP. I find DPP to be less easy to use than Aperture. I think you can do batch DPP to TIFF's but then you are doing the fine tuning on TIFFs not raw in aperture.
Well, Canon's new DPP with DLO sure promises some amazing (and seemingly impossible!) things. It claims to correct for, among other things, diffraction and the low pass filter!
Who needs an D800e?
OT: I found this explanation useful. It makes sense to me that if the AA filter is physical, reversing the effect would have to be physical (prior to recording data). I don't see how it could be cancelled in PP (though it might be reduced).
Hmmm...this is very disappointing...my first time I have said this with Apple and I am feeling restless.
I have my 5 DIII in hand and uploaded files to my 6 TB Aperture library and I get incompatibility issues with RAW.
I hope this happens soon as I may leave Aperture for good...thought I would never say that...
- SO VERY DISAPPOINTED.
Ok,
I've had this issue since I bought mine on March 17. Lucky to get the camera that day, unlucky to be dependent on Aperture to manage files. what gives? Looking at options to get around this. APPLE vs. CANON .. come on and get it on
Apple-- why the D800 Update and not the 5diii...***? 5diii shipped first..is Apple in bed with Nikon now. What Are your plans? Right now I'm not happy with Aperture as a 5diii user.
Very disappointed!
any idea when the update will come out.. ?.. i panic just now... it's the first time i put my new shots from the mk3 to aperture and all i got were errors...😮 then i checked on the latest update... and what i see is for the nikon?!?!?! 😢
please get these update ASAP... come on APERTURE... i still think that your the best, but... this is truly disappointing.. 😟
I just talked to an apple pro photo support person over the phone...and he said that I was the first person to call about the 5D Markiii. He didn't even know that it had come out already. I told him that the last update was for Nikon D800 which hasn't even shipped yet and he guessed that Apple didn't get Canon's specs until later. I asked him how long he thought it could be before an update for the mkiii...weeks or months? He really didn't know, but he speculated that it could be weeks or even months. 😟 His only solution was to use canon's SW in the meantime. Not very helpful at all. But maybe if more of us call the support number and complain Apple will get the hint!!
