Even if you buy Applecare in SG or in PH, AARs and APRs in the Philippines will not honor it. This is only true for iPhone. Other iDevices like the iPad or iPod or Macs are honored.

iPhone's Applecare is honored in countries where they originally sell unlocked iPhones in the AAR or APR stores like SG, HK or USA.

It is still alright, you will still be able to know the country of origin of your unlocked iPhone and you can bring it there or have it brought there to an authorized service center and have your repair or replacement done on the origin country.

Otherwise you need to settle for repairs in the PH from local non-authorized repair shops.

i bought the new ipad 64 gb last week in the US. i started to use it only here in the phils upon my return. my ipad is overheating...it gets extremely hot with continuous use, a problem i have not seen in both my ipad 1&2. i wanted to have it replaced, but my next US trip will be on nov, already beyond the 90 days warranty period. i ws reading your posts concerning applesupport for ipad being honored here in the phils. do you know where the applestore in this country is? sorry, i live in the province. i have the receipts with me intact as well as the entire package. will appreciate much your reply on this. .. thanks very much.

There is no official Apple Store in the Philippines. However, there are a few Apple Authorized Service Centers in the Philippines (I can only point you to the ones in Manila) which can take a look at your hardware. Yes, iPad is covered. The initial discussion was only and uniquely for the iPhone.

Just check for the Manila service centers if they have a branch near you. To name a few, Digital Hub, PowerMac, Senco Link are the most trusted ones.
