Anyone Airplay'd 1080p to ATV via iMovie on "new" iPad?

I should have posted this here as it appears to be more active than the iMovie and everyone figuring out the 1080p thing...

Background:

1. Took videos with "The New iPad" aka iPad3.

2. Put together the vids in iMovie on the iPad (easy and fun to do)

3. Played the iMovie on the iPad and used the "Optimize" option... It looks great.

4. Within iMovie tried to use Airplay to my new ATV (the latest one) and it shows the first frame and tries to load the movie (a 4 minute one) at a complete snails pace. This is all via WiFi. I gave up on the load and it never started to play on the ATV.

So now the quesitons:

1. Is this avenue of playback from within iMovie using Airplay to ATV even supported?

2. If this is suposed to work is the video going to be at a 1080p from the iPad to the ATV at 1080p? I ask as tehre seems to be some posts whether 1080p Airplay is supported but I can't find reference to it anywhere.

I'd rather not have to go through alternatives to move it here or there as the whole idea was for me to play right off the iPad to the ATV.

In terms of the Wifi I have pretty good connections and the ATV funcitons fine to play movies etc. Also Airplay works fine from the iPad doing a Youtube video for example.

Maybe this Movie is too high of resolution on the iPad to stream to ATV using Airplay?

Ideas / Help / Knowledge / Experience appreciated... :-)

Ok.. after some more experimatation I determined it does work but takes a long time to load to the point it can play. These are 2:30 to 4:40 minute 1080p videos and take at least 5-8 minutes to buffer enough, about 3/4 of the buffer bar beforet they start playing. The quailty of the video is impressive as they were taken from the "new iPad".

What I'd like is similar performace of loading to what I would get when accessing movies from iTunes, guessing a different method. In the meantime I think an Apple Digital AV Adapter is in order to go direct to the TV without goingin thru the ATV. It's a convenience thing to be un-connected and maybe a network upgrade is in order.
