Back/forward gesture in Safari
Is there a swipe or gesture to take you back/forward in Safari on the iPad? It seems like there should be.

Two finger Swipe in window
Doesn't seem to work for me. I'm putting two fingers on the screen and then swiping left (or right as the case may be.) And yes I do have a page to go back to, I can tap the back arrow and go back. That is the kind of mistake I would make, but this time it isn't that! 🙂
Is there a setting to turn it on?
I don't think that any of the multi-touch gestures work on Safari (they don't work on mine either).
No, sorry, I posted info about Safari IN Lion.
I have had a look through Google with no luck.
Thanks. I had taken a couple of runs through the Google too. Seems so obvious. Time for feedback....
Probably
Y because it's easier to link to one item for all feedback pages. Then that one page can be updated when needed without having to update numerous pages. Just guessing here.
One Multi-touch gesture that does work in Safari is a four finger swipe that takes you to the previously used app.
Sorry yes, I should have said that there aren't any gestures specific to Safari
Try clicking system preferences, trackpad, more gestures, and then click swipe with three fingers for the 'swipe between pages' gesture.
it's a simple swipe gesture!
Ummmm . . . There's no trackpad settings for iPad.
IOS 7 solves that with one finger swipe left/right
More specifically, the one finger swipe needs to start *off-screen* and go more than halfway across the screen, before removing your finger from the screen, in order to work properly.
Lifting your finger before the halfway mark lets the current page slide back and you remain on the current page.
(My experience with iOS 7.)
