Jan 3, 2014 1:13 PM in response to pdw05by andy.dickens,You don't need to disable Peerblock or 'Allow HTTP'. Just highlight all the Apple entries in the Peerblock window, right-click them and select 'Allow Multiple IP's Permanently'.
Make sure you only select Apple entries and nothing else. You may find many Apple entries in Peerblock for this forum, iTunes etc.

Feb 8, 2014 7:35 PM in response to Love.Cupcakeby EG1969,I got same error and reboot PC (help desk always says do that anyway). Still got error. I closed out of itunes. Went to Control Panel -> Programs -> Programs and Features. I saw that an extra Apple manager had installed and I uninstalled. THen selected iTunes and ran repair on it. Got the prompt from Norton 360 and allowed changes. Repair completed, opened itunes and back in business.

Sep 10, 2014 11:43 PM in response to Love.Cupcakeby jpa_rijks,In my case it was Norton 360 that blocked iTunes from accessing the internet. Although the firewall was set to "Automatic", it still just blocked iTunes without asking any questions. As soon as I set the permission to "Allow", iTunes reconnected with the Apple server. PROBLEM SOLVED! Hope this helps other users.

Oct 29, 2014 9:36 PM in response to nyboy_x5by learningtolean, score! You win! thanks for the tip! If Norton is the problem, set the firewall to "block" itunes. Click apply! Then set it to "allow" again, click apply! and it's clear sailing!

Oct 29, 2014 9:39 PM in response to NortonSupportby learningtolean, dear norton support,
Of course, if itunes has been working, we all have itunes "allowed." The tip that worked was BLOCK itunes. Click apply. Then ALLOWitunes again. Click apply.
