iTunes Store error (-3212)??

Alerts with codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the gs.apple.com server on ports 80 or 443. This may be because out-of-date or incorrectly configured security or firewall software is interfering, or due to your Internet proxy settings. If you are using a proxy, try removing the proxy settings, or using a known-good network. If that does not resolve the issue, follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.

Had the same exact error with Norton 360 installed. Could not uninstall Norton 360 by add/remove programs so I downloaded the Norton removal tool. Get it here:

After rebooting, Itunes worked perfectly.

For those having problems and they have AV/firewall installed. Try removing it completely and reinstall. wiclee's post above is also very helpful.

I did all the works as you did, even more... Finally I deleted my current anti-virus soft wear then installed Norton Internet Security, it's working well. Spent a little money to save my precious time!!

I experienced this error after installing PeerBlock. Closing PeerBlock while I was running iTunes fixed the error.

I agree 100% w prudog9 - it was PeerBlock causing the problems.

I think you can also get rid of the errors by 'allow HTTP' in the PeerBlock window.

I also agree with prudog9. I have peerblock installed on windows 8 and I had this error and -50 error. I allowed http and itunes worked again. What is up with that though? If you are able to browse the web with http blocked, then you should be able to have itunes working with http block.

Disabling peerblock worked perfectly for me

If using Norton 360 go to settings / program rules tab - change itunes from auto to allow , this will work

If you using Norton 360 Antivirus application

Open Norton 360 > Go to Settings > Firewall > Program Rules > Scroll to iTunes

If it set to Allow change it to BLOCK , click Apply and then GO BACK and change to ALLOW again and click the Apply Button.

You don't need to uninstall and re-install iTunes 🙂
