Backups are corrupt.

Hi.

I upgraded an iPhone4 (4.3.3) to 5.1.

Before, I did a backup using iTunes (WindowsXP).

The 4.3.3 > 5.1 upgrade did another backup as part of the upgrade process.

Now ... after the upgrade process was complete, I elected to do a restore from the computer the backup were made upon.

iTunes reported both backups being corrupt !!!

What went wrong here?

I absolutely need the data stored in this backups!

Any help would be appreciated.

1. Is it possible that the firmware 4.3.3 cannot be restored by 5.1?

2. Is there a tool permitting to check the integrity of a backup?
