Q: Finding WiFi on iPhone
My old iPhone 4 that I thought was broken due to falling into water a year and a half ago is now working. We could not get it to turn on or anything at the time, so I bought a new iPhone right after this happened a year and a half ago.
The other day I plugged my old iPhone in and to my surprise it worked. It must have dried out over the year and a half. It has held a charge for three days. I can do all functions on the iPhone without internet, so it is working well. When I try to get on our wireless internet the WiFi selection is grayed out in settings. I clicked on “About” and “Network” which says “SIM not provisioned.” I want to be able to use my old iPhone with WiFi at my house like an iPod Touch. What do I need to do?
Also, how do I change the name of my old iPhone? It is called the exact same thing as my current iPhone that I have been using for a year and a half since my old iPhone drowned and stopped working. I would like to update my old iPhone that is now working on iTunes, but it is called the same name as my current iPhone. How do I change the name on my old iPhone?
Could you please help me with getting on my WiFi with my old iPhone and changing the name of my old iPhone in order to update it in iTunes?
Thank you!
iPhone 4, Windows Vista
