car stereo alphabetizes song in playlist

i have two ipods, both brand new - an ipod classic and a nano. i have a pretty new delphi satellite radio/mp3 player that i plug these ipods into (with an aux patch cord and a usb cord at the same time). when i plug in the ipod nano, the car stereo lists everything in the right order...but when i plug in the ipod classic, the car stereo alphabetizes all the songs, both on the albums and in my individualized playlists!! i dont get this at all. i know this is a compatibility problem, not an ipod problem...the ipods both function perfectly by themselves. but im hoping someone out there has had this problem and has an idea!!
