where are my mail attachments?

I have migrated my email from Outlook on my Windows laptop into Mail on my MacBook Pro. The mail items are there (I hope - as all my neat folders have been whooshed out of existence) but I am unable to see or open any attachements. Where are the attachements and how do I locate them?
