I don't see anything in that FAQ that answers my question.
Movie rentals through iTunes are a huge pain. if you rent one through iTunes on your computer, you can transfer it back and forth from computer to iOS device. For this, you obviously need a computer. There's no way to transfer directly from one iOS device to another.
If you rent a movie directly on an iPhone or iPad, there's no way to transfer it anywhere, ever. Also, 9 out of 10 times I rent a movie on my iPad, it disappears long before the 30 days is up and before I've ever started watching. iTunes support has been great about crediting or letting me redownload, but there's definitely some kind of bug with rentals on the iPad.
