iPhone 4 updating to 5.1 error 3194. How can i fix this

A search of google or the forums for the error message would have revealed an answer.

If your iphone is jailbroken it might be the problem

restore into dfu mode

while iphone plugged in an off

hold power (3) secs

then home(10) secs

wait till it reboots

let go of power and keep holding the home button.

then reset

or it could just be the hosts file.

do u have a windows or mac?

3194: Check your hosts file for any traces of #gs.apple.com. Remove them, as it blocks server connections to gs.apple.com in iTunes. Put phone in DFU mode and restore.

This advice is not solved my problem.

I use 4 computers and 5 operating system, different cables - but I have error 3194
