The only way to reinstall Safari running Mac OS X v10.7 is to use Lion Recovery

Try deleting the cache associated with Safari.

Quit Safari.

Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db

Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.

Relaunch Safari to test.

~ (Tilde) character represents the Home folder.

For Lion v10.7x: To find the Home folder in OS X Lion, open the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library

I have seen this before...

I also have a Refurbed MacBook which has displayed Euros for Dollars for years, and I've never solved that one either....I always assumed that was why it was a refurb....come to think of it, my MBPro is a Refurb too

No, I've installed no fonts that I know of; well, there were some Google fonts I think, but don't remember why or where. amd I think that was before Lion update.

Tom,

oh man, I think I'm about to be embarassed...yes, I'm turning red.

Apologies to all the Windows programmers who might now work for Apple.

Yep, when I updated & reinstalled Lion/Safari I must have lost my settings for that extension(SCC-Safari Currency Converter) and it then defaults/reverted to Euros.

Thanks for helping me find the obvious!

cheers
