iPad 3rd generation

Everything is sharper on the iPad 3rd generation... but I need to know how to get the crisp white thst the iPad 2 displays. Te iPad 3 has a distinct or pronounced yellowish haze tone to white objects and affects all other colors as well. It is not the brightness ... I've tested that. Holding the iPad 3rd generation next to the iPad 2 ... the color difference is very noticeable and. renders images washed out!

Retail Apple store tried to explain Apple's reasoning for changing the white color to a dull yelloish green which enhances the new brighter, clearer screen for better results. Fot me, I tried to exolain that I wanted my choice of colors and skin tones. Another guy said it was the glue on the screen and would go away in a week.. Who's right. Do all iPads have the new color cast. Will it be a perminent decision. Can it be fixed or do I need to return the iPad?

As a photographer I use my iPad 1 as a portable portfolio. I received my new iPad 3 last Friday, loaded it up and compared it with my iPad 1 - noticed the green/yellow tint on the iPad 3, called Apple support, who told me to take it in to the Genius Bar at my local Apple Store, where the rep compared the images on my iPad 1 with my iPad 3 and agreed that there was a color problem. We tried the same image on another iPad 3 in the store and it looked just as bad. I asked the rep at the Genius Bar whether this was a known problem and he said no. Since they could not guarantee me that there would be a fix forthcoming, I had to return my new iPad and ask for my money back.

The resolution on the new iPad screen is stunning so I'm hoping that Apple can get the color cast problem resolved as I sure would like to use this new devise to show off my portfolio.

Many people have posted that the yellowish tint was a common problem when the iPad 2 was first released and was caused by the glue holding the screen to the rest of the unit. Supposedly the yellowish tint disappeared after a few weeks. If this is the case, the long an iPad site on the shelf the better the screen will look. But right now every iPad is probably sold right after it is manufactured. Those who manage to purchase units made earlier in the process as Apple built up their inventory. I purchased my iPad 2 well after it was first released and never saw a problem with the screen.

For those concerned about this issue I would wait until a few weeks after the mad rush to buy the new iPad is over. Then go to an Apple store with your old iPad to compare with a unit that had been around for a while. Hopefully the problem will either be resolved by Apple or it will go away as units spend A little more time between manufacture and delivery to the buyer.

I have a slight yellow cast on the the left handside of the screen (with the home button on the right) when the iPad is in landscape mode.

Its not massively noticable, but its one of them things that when you've spotted it, your eyes are always getting drawn to it.

Its noticable when I'm using Safari with the white background, and when using the onscreen keyboard. You can see the keys on the left have a slight yellow hue when compared to the right handside keys which do not. The yellow hue is also noticable when a grey background is shown.

I contacted Apple today and I am getting a replacement tomorrow, and the faulty iPad is getting picked up at the same time. Hopefully the new one will be free of the yellow hue.

Got a new iPad sent to me by Apple. Worse than my original. Verified this with mgnt. at the Apple retail store. Sent replacement back, keeping the orighinal. It has become less perdominent but still yellowish.

I just got tired of lots of phone calls and trips to retail store. I have heard however many did loose thir yellow to the satisfaction of the owner. Being a photographer it is a deep, gnawing concern still.
