The MacBook Pro does not support BluRay. You may be able to utilize an external player and associated software to play a BluRay DVD. Flash does work on a McNook Pro.

Jobs loathed Blu-Ray and his ghost continues to do so. Thus the New Deal is "Get all from the web and have a sealed Mac" and the drive-less Retinas. But there are a number of alternatives to get your Hi-Def video on the Mac from the stack of disks in the blue cases, as mentioned above.
As for Flash, works fine provided you keep it updated to minimize risk. The product is downloadable from here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ When the latest is installed, a new perfpane will pop up in System Preferences, where you can configure updates and other stuff.
You'll have to install Flash yourself since Apple no longer includes it. If Blu-ray and Flash are very high priorities, I would actually advise that a non-Apple laptop might be better.
